1st LATIN AMERICA RETAIL CONGRESS

The 1st Latin America Retail Congress organized by the Center for Retailing Excellence of Fundação Getúlio Vargas – Escola de Administração de Empresas de São Paulo (FGV/EAESP) will be held on October 8th to 9th, 2008, in São Paulo, Brazil

The Congress main theme is “Retailing in Emerging Markets - Challenges and Perspectives”. The aim of the Congress is to stimulate scholars and practitioners of Marketing, Retailing and Business in Latin America to discuss and exchange ideas, theoretical insights, empirical research results and applications about retailing in emerging markets.

It aims to stimulate the development and dissemination of retail knowledge by integrating multiple perspectives from academics, retailers, research professionals and other interested companies.

Empirical research papers, research papers and case studies will be accepted for the following areas:

GUIDELINES FOR PAPER SUBMISSION

  1. The deadline for paper submission is: July 28th, 2008.
  2. Only electronic submissions will be accepted through email: laretail@fgv.br
  3. Document Standards
    • Submissions must be in MS Word.
    • There is a 16-page limit for submissions, including all tables, charts, appendices and references.
    • The Cover Page must include the Paper’s title and Track and Author’s information (name, title, affiliation, full address, phone, fax number and e-mail address for each author). Please send the cover page separate in another document to ensure anonymity.
    • The title of the paper must be centered on the top of the first page, followed by abstract, key words and then by the text.
      • paper size: A4 (21 x 29.7 cm);
      • top border: 3 cm;
      • bottom border: 2 cm;
      • left margin: 3 cm;
      • right margin: 2 cm;
      • text font: Times New Roman size 12 pt;
      • spacing: simple (between characters, words and lines);
    • To facilitate the blind review process, please leave the author’s name off the body of the manuscript. Please be sure to check headers and footers and also the “file properties” for author’s name.
    • The papers can be submitted in English, Spanish and Portuguese.
  4. The approved papers can be presented in English, Spanish or Portuguese. There will be no simultaneous translation.
  5. Original and unpublished work is sought, therefore, papers containing identical or similar work already published will not be accepted.
